Contractor Con Artist

A man accused of being a contractor con artist has pleaded not guilty to a number of charges.Deputies arrested Theodore “Ted” Diamond for nine felonies including theft by false pretenses last week.Investigators believe the 35 year old from Thousand Oaks conned homeowners from Santa Barbara to Moorpark.Victims say he posed as the owner of “Guardian Fence, ” a company based in Los Angeles.Customers say they wrote him personal checks for work that was never done or finished.Deputies say he is also listed as a fugitive wanted on the East coast.Diamond is being held in Ventura County Jail on $100 thousand dollars bail.Other possible victims are urged to contact Detective Kevin Lynch (805)532-2700.You may also contact Ventura County Crime Stoppers.Ventura County CrimestoppersVentura County Crimestoppers 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) Text “BUSTED” and a message to CRIMES (274637)or log onto: www.venturacountycrimestoppers.org.
