Chumash Hotel Donation

The Chumash Casino is hoping to share some of its good fortune with four area non-profits. Recently the hotel donated hundred of pieces of furniture from its resort– including art work. The lucky recipients are Good Samaritan Shelter, People Helping People, the Unity Shoppe and Domestic Violence Solutions. Proceeds from furniture sales are set to fund various youth programs as well as furnishing shelters. Organizers of People Helping People says one of the programs funded from proceeds is a 24-hour, seven day a week domestic violence hotline…aiding domestic violence victims and those seeking information about domestic violence. The Chumash Casino Hotel opened back in 2004 and its now undergoing its first major renovation. The tribe says it has donated about 16 million dollars to different community groups as part of the Chumash tradition of giving.
