Charges Filed In Tang Murder Case

SANTA ANA – Murder charges have been filed in the stabbing death of a Santa Barbara woman.24-year old Derek Henry Pinski faces 26 years in state prison if he’s convicted.The Orange County District Attorney’s office says Pinski stabbed his girlfriend, Alexandra Tang, to death at a home in Laguna Hills on Saturday. Paramedics say they arrived at the home and found the homeowner giving CPR to Tang who suffered multiple stab wounds.Authorities say Tang lived in Santa Barbara and was visiting Pinski who lives at home with his mother and a renter.Sheriff’s Detectives tracked down and arrested Pinski at his father’s home in Mesa, Arizona on Sunday.Tang was born and raised in Santa Barbara, graduated from Bishop Garcia Diego high school and studied psychology at UCSB.The District Attorney’s office plans to request that Pinski be held on one million dollars bail.
