Alzheimer’s Action Day
You may have noticed our purple attire. It’s in recognition of Alzheimer’s Action Day and September is actually world Alzheimer’s month. KEY News took the opportunity to raise awareness about the disease and the need for more education, support and research. Millions of families across the USA and the world are affected. In Santa Barbara County, more than 9,000 families have a loved one with Alzheimer’s. For the first time the award-winning lighting display at the Santa Barbara Courthouse will go purple in recognition of Alzheimer’s Action Day. Santa Barbara County Courthouse workers will be placing purple gels over the lights that illuminate the architecture and landscaping of the historic landmark.
