Santa Barbara International Marathon Will Draw 6000 Runners
6000 runners from around the world have registered for this Saturday’s Santa Barbara International Marathon. The event is in its fourth year.
The route will go through the streets of Goleta and Santa Barbara. Residents have already seen signs along the route alerting them to the possible delays they may face when the runners come through. Some will leave for a few hours. Others are planning to have cheering sections, music and entertainment for the runners along the way.
“It’s the perfect community for this sort of thing,” said Marathon Race Director Rusty Snow. Organizers say the competition level will be very high among the elite runners who have entered.
