Robert De Niro Receives Award For Excellence In Film
Director, producer and Academy Award-winning actor Robert De Niro is this year’s recipient of the The Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film.
The festival’s seventh annual black-tie gala dinner made history last Saturday evening at the Bacara Resort and Spa. De Niro accepted the honor from Douglas at the event. De Niro is being honored both for his work this year in the film ‘Silver Linings Playbook’, as well as for the exceptional work he’s done throughout his lifetime.
Past recipients of the award include Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford, Quentin Tarantino, Ed Harris, John Travolta and Kirk Douglas himself.
