New Oak Trees Take Root in Santa Barbara’s Botanic Garden
Truckers hauled two, 20′ coast live oak trees to Santa Barbara’s Botanic Garden from a farm in Somis Tuesday morning.
Garden staffers chose the 28 year old giants from the Berylwood Tree Farm, based upon its stellar reputation as one of the best growers and transporters of large trees in the nation. Replanting the trees is one of the conditions outlined in the Garden’s Conditional Use Permit of restoring the historically significant Meadow area to its original state.
