Movember ‘Stache’s Raise Awareness For Prostate Cancer

Mustaches have turned November into Movember! The ‘stache craze is for a good cause. Movember is raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer and other men’s health issues.

The James Joyce in Santa Barbara is doing their part to get in on the fun and raise money for the Movember cause. A team of 19 people, “The James Joyce Crew”, has raised nearly $2,000 for cancer research.

“My dad has prostate cancer,” James Joyce owner Tommy Byrne said. “He’s been battling it for two years now and it could have been prevented if he had been treated early.”

Early prevention is key and mustaches during Movember have become walking, talking billboards that prompt private and public conversation around the men’s health issues that are often ignored.

Joe Buttitta has the story.
