Marijuana Operation Discovered In Carpinteria Home

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies converged on a home at 4870 Malibu Drive in Carpinteria about 7am Friday morning. Deputies served a search warrant at the home and discovered a sophisticated marijuana growing operation at three locations on the property.

Officials say they served the warrant as part of an on-going investigation. They also say the drug operation included 88 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, a small amount of methamphetamines and more marijuana that was packaged, processed and ready for sale.

The home is located near Canalino Elementary School and the school district offices Deputies arrested 52-year-old Brian Lopez Sr., 27-year-old Amber Iverson, 37-year-old Patrick Bollinger and 49-year-old Irene Hernandez. All four suspects face various drug charges and the investigation is ongoing.

The case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
