DRI Prepares Kits for Sandy Victims

A local non-profit is preparing to send relief to the ravaged east coast. This Thursday, dozens of volunteers are expected to spend their Thanksgiving morning at the Direct Relief warehouse in Goleta. They will be packing 1,000 personal care kits filled with basic hygiene items for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The community is welcome to volunteer at this Thursday’s packing event. It will be taking place from 9 to 11 this Thanksgiving morning at the Direct Relief International warehouse, 27 South La Patera Lane in Goleta.

To date, Direct Relief International has sent more than $500,000 worth of supplies to health centers devastated by Sandy.
