Dos Pueblos Mock Trial Team Returns Home

After being stranded in Brooklyn, New York, the Dos Pueblos High School Mock Trial team is back home. The eleven students were participating in a mock trial competition, when super storm Sandy ripped through the Northeast– leaving them stranded without a flight home for days.

After two long travel days, and multiple flight cancellations, part of the group flew in Thursday night into Santa Barbara Airport, the other half flew into LAX. The students shared their experiences with KEY News. They also came home with their 2nd place trophy. They made it to the championship round, but were narrowly defeated by La Reina High School from Thousand Oaks.

As a result of being stuck for extra days, both teams have at least 6 to 8-thousand dollars in additional expenses. To help out, Santa Barbara Airbus, offered to pick up the students from LAX airport and bring them home on Thursday.
