Community Colleges Under Microscope

An Accreditation Commission is attending Ventura County Community College District’s Board meeting tonight. Moorpark, Oxnard and Ventura Community Colleges have been on probation since January when the commission cited problems on the board. There is new leadership on the board. And the colleges are taking advice and making improvements.

Accreditation is needed for credits to transfer and for students to be eligible for Federal aid. The colleges will find out if their accreditation is safe in February.
