Santa Maria deemed largest city
As of the first of the year, Santa Maria is named the most populous city in Santa Barbara County.
Santa Maria has an estimated 90,204 residents and the next largest city – Santa Barbara – weighs in at 89,548.
Some say the increase was imminent, now that median price of a home in Santa Barbara is more than $1 million, more than twice as high as a typical home in Santa Maria.
