“Songs of the Season” brings holiday cheer to Santa Barbara airport

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara airport welcomes travelers and the community to the Eighth Annual Songs of the Season event this week.

It takes place just inside the main entrance at the airport's Airline Terminal.

Harding Elementary and the San Marcos High School Madrigal Singers performed Monday.

Santa Barbara High Madrigal Singers perform Dec. 17 at 4 p.m.

Dos Pueblos High School choir performs Dec. 18 at 4 p.m.

The Young Singers perform Dec. 20 at 4 p.m.

"We are honored that such talented local school choirs and ensembles will be lighting up our airport with the sounds of the holidays and entertaining passengers and visitors each day," said SBA Director, Henry Thompson in a news release . "It is a privilege to host our gifted students and we look forward to continuing to support these groups every year."

Airport officials said they anticipate the busiest days will be the weekend prior to Christmas, December 21-22. The Airport's airlines all will adhere to a 40 minutes prior to departure check-in rule, particularly when checking bags.

SBA offers daily direct flights to 11 destinations: Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle.
