Friday Night Live’s Reindeer Run is coming to San Luis Obispo rain or shine
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The County of San Luis Obispo Behavioral Health Department’s Friday Night Live (FNL) program will be hosting their Reindeer Run 5k on Saturday rain or shine!
The run will begin in Mitchell Park at 9 a.m. Check-in opens at 8 a.m.
No matter the weather, the health department encourages participants to dress up in their favorite holiday attire. All ages and members of the community are invited to join the race.
A pancake breakfast will be waiting for runners at the finish line.
"The race really brings together people of all ages and backgrounds who care about the wellbeing of youth; it is an amazing thing to see,” said Anita Jankovitz, College Wellness and Friday Night Live Coordinator at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. “Our programs don’t just offer a safe place for kids to learn about drugs, alcohol and mental health, but they also support leadership skill building so students can take meaningful tools with them when they leave school.”
Participants can register for the run online. Registration starts at $10 for children 12 years and younger, $20 for students with a valid I.D. and $25 for adults.
Children in strollers are free and group discounts are available for families and teams.
The health department said the proceeds from this event will go to San Luis Obispo County Friday Night Live, California's leading youth development and substance abuse prevention program.
As a gift, all registered guests will receive a Reindeer Run T-shirt and a ticket for Santa's pancake breakfast following the run.
