Guadalupe Union School District the first to offer vaccine clinic to students ages 5 to 11
GUADALUPE, Calif. - It’s the Vaccine clinic this mother of 3 has been waiting for!
" … as soon as 4 o’clock hits … my husband‘s going to bring him by and
hopefully get his first dose … and then after two weeks hopefully get a second one," said mother Dolores Rosas of Guadalupe.
Rosas plans to get in line the second Guadalupe’s first COVID
vaccine clinic for kids ages 5 to 11 opens Monday afternoon.
" … I am excited because my family and I have gotten the vaccine already …
and I feel more comfortable if my nine-year-old gets it too … you know it’s
just hard to know we all have it and he doesn’t," said Rosas.
The free vaccine clinic will feature the newly FDA approved
Pfizer COVID vaccine at Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School.
" … we want to keep them in school so while this is not mandatory the doors
are open … for anybody that wants it if parents are willing we’re open from
4 to 7 on Monday so kids can get their first shot and again it’s to help
keep them in school," said principal Alex Jauregui of the Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School in Guadalupe.
Even if you live in cities outside of Guadalupe, anyone can come to the
clinic to get vaccinated.
" … it’s open to anybody really … adults … children … anybody that wants to
get a vaccination can get a vaccination we’re also partnering with fighting
back Santa Maria Valley … and they will be here as well given gift cards
to anybody who gets vaccinated," said Jauregui.
The clinic is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School on Nov. 8.
