Compassionate Care of Carpinteria sees rising demand for services
Carpinteria, Calif. - Community leader Marybeth Carty is surrounded by family and friends who have suffered the loss of a loved one in carpinteria.
"Suffering from the loss of children youth or navigating really complex and life threatening illness … with their beloved elders … they’re just too raw to talk about it themselves," said Carty.
That’s where this Compassionate Care of Carpinteria comes in.
“Working with bereavement for both adults and for children and local schools as well as patient care services … which works with a patient who have life-threatening illness and help them navigate all the issues that they face," said director of strategic advancement Charles Caldwell of Compassionate Care of Carpinteria.
Since it’s initiative about 7 years ago, Carty believes these services have grown in value throughout the community.
"And they’ve been a lot more challenges with mental health people are grieving differently and they’re expressing their need for support," said Carty.
The community will get a chance to show their support during the organization’s Light Shines Luncheon on Thursday.
“I think that’s really fitting at the luncheon. It’s called the Light Shines ahead because in a lot of darkness there is still some light and you just gotta reach out and accept it," said keynote speaker Jessica Clark of the Light Shines Luncheon.
Organizes at the event hope community members will come out to learn more about the services offered at the Carpinteria organization.
“All our services are free of charge to our community and so part of it is to let people know that these resources are available to them," said Caldwell.
This event will have a special focus on remembering loved ones who have passed away and their impact on our lives.
"We know it's a part of life," said Carty.
During the Light Shines Luncheon, guests can support the work of Compassionate Care of Carpinteria in the name of their loved ones.
