Police arrest suspect in Santa Maria stabbing investigation

Santa Maria resident Randy Esparza-Estrada, 19, was arrested by police Thursday in connection with an evening stabbing in the 900 block of Palisade Drive on Aug. 21, 2018.
Santa Maria police say detectives served an arrest warrant in the 1200 block of Creston Road in Paso Robles on Aug. 23 and took Esparza-Estrada into custody without incident.
Police are investigating the stabbing incident as an attempted murder.
No further details were immediately known.

Police are investigating an attempted homicide in Santa Maria that occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 900 block of North Palisades Drive.
The first responders to arrive found a man suffering from a stab wound and was quickly taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Authorities say the victim is in stable condition.
The suspect left the crime scene before officers arrived, says the Santa Maria Police Department. No description of the suspect is available at this time.
