Motorcycle pursuit ends in Oxnard gang related firearms arrest
Police arrested a gang member and another driver for various firearm violations Friday night in Oxnard.
Oxnard Police Officers from the gang unit and K-9 officers were working in the area of Del Norte Blvd and East Ventura Blvd around 8:40 p.m. when they observed a black 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Dodge Journey SUV driving in the area with vehicle code violations.
Police say the driver of the motorcycle failed to yield and continued onto the 3000 block of Orange Drive. Once the driver yielded, officers identified him as Benjamin Serrano,33, a member of the El Rio criminal street gang.
The Dodge SUV was stopped by officers in the area of Del Norte Blvd and East Ventura Blvd and was identified as Angelica Serrano, 34, from Oxnard.
During a vehicle search of the SUV, police found a 40 Cal semi-automatic handgun with the serial number scraped off. Angelica was arrested for numerous firearm violations. Benjamin was arrested for evading arrest and numerous firearms violations.
