First weekend of summer weekend picks

SOLSTICE PARADE | 12 PM SATURDAY | STATE ST., SANTA BARBARA
Celebrate the start of summer at the Santa Barbara Solstice Festival this Friday through Sunday at Alameda Park. The largest of the festivities will be the summer solstice parade which will make it’s way down State Street in Santa Barbara at noon on Saturday. You won’t want to miss the colorful floats, dance groups and celebration of all things summer.

FLOWER FESTIVAL | JUNE 20-24 | RYON PARK, LOMPOC
There’s fun for all ages at Lompoc’s annual Flower Festival at Ryon Park. In addition to the carnival rides, there’s live music every night, a wide variety of arts and crafts and locally made goods for sale, as well as an array of fresh food booths to stir any appetite. Local non-profits look to the flower festival every year to raise important funds.

CIRCUS VARGAS | JUNE 21-25 | EARL WARREN SHOW GROUNDS
Circus Vargas is making its way up the coast. This weekend check out the flying trapeze artists, clowns, acrobats, motorcycles and more at Earl Warren Show Grounds in Santa Barbara. The ‘Dreaming of Pirates’ them is fun for all ages. The following weekend they will be at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo.
