Sunshine Cafe opens in Santa Barbara

Order Up! Sunshine Cafe is open for business in Santa Barbara.

The new eatery is serving up everything from breakfast favorites including pancakes and eggs to delicious lunch dishes like pasta and fish n’ chips.

Sunshine Cafe takes over Max’s Restaurant location, which was a staple in Santa Barbara for more than 30 years on upper State Street.

“We want to bring in new faces, but we really want all the clients that used to come to Max’s,” said Manuel Plascencia, owner of Sunshine Cafe.

Sunshine Cafe’s menu incorporates 80% of what was on Max’s menu.

Plascencia brings 20 years of restaurant industry experience to the Sunshine Cafe.

Currently, the Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, but Plascencia says there are plans to open for dinner as well.

“We’re here to give the best service, quality, and consistency,” said Plascencia.

Owners say they will be rolling out promotions on social media platforms in the coming weeks and hope to introduce the ability to order online too.

Sunshine Cafe is located at 3514 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA, 93105.

Open Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
