UCSB student falls from rooftop
A UCSB student is injured after falling off a rooftop in Isla Vista Sunday morning.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from Isla Vista Foot Patrol responded to a report of a man that fell from his roof in the 900 block of Camino Del Sur around 1:30 a.m.
According to witnesses, the 20-year old UCSB student was holding a camera trying to take a picture of his friends near the edge of the roof before falling 15-feet to the ground.
When crews arrived, the victim was unconscious but breathing on his own.
He was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment for his injuries.
Ther Sheriff’s Office says the fall appears to be accidental and alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
