805 Beer makes big splash at NASCAR cup series race weekend in Fontana
NASCAR fans got a taste of the Central Coast over the weekend with Firestone Walker’s 805 Beer making a big splash at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana.
805 Beer partnered with Auto Club Speedway to bring their ever so popular blonde ale beer to the race track over the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400 race weekend.
“Adding 805 Beer reinforces our commitment to work with brands that embrace the motorsports culture,” said Dave Allen, President of Auto Club Speedway, “We are happy to add another beer option for our fans to enjoy during race weekends.”
“With NASCAR, they called us last year and we came out for an interview to see what the whole thing was,” said Matt Malone, 805 West Coast Regional Events Manager. “It didn’t look that big when it was empty, we thought ‘Yeah, we can come out here and make a splash.'”
Malone recognizes that the local brewery is playing on a totally different level.
“It is daunting, it is very daunting. You sit there and you look on the other side and you look this way, and on the horizon is the Grandstand. So this is the big league,” Malone said.
805’s iconic black-and-white color branded beer stands and airstream were on full display at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Fan Zone pouring beer from the tap and selling merchandise to some very thirsty and thankful fans.
“Everyone’s coming up to us and saying ‘I had you at such and such, I’m glad you’re here. Please keep supporting.’ It’s been wonderful,” Malone said.
805 Beer is now distributing to eight states that include Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Hawaii.
