Caines named head coach of Dos Pueblos football as expected

Doug Caines is the new head football coach at Dos Pueblos High School.

He takes over for his friend Nate Mendoza who stepped down earlier this month as he could no longer juggle head coaching and his role as Dean of Students.

Caines has been the Chargers defensive coordinator and assistant coach for the past three years under Mendoza.

Before coming to DP, Caines was the head football coach at Santa Barbara High School from 2012-2014.

Mendoza is expected to be on Caines’ coaching staff.
