A Lompoc man was arrested early Saturday morning in connection to the murder of his girlfriend, 47-year-old Ranae Ronquillo.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to a residence on the 100 block of South C Street where they located the victim face down with major injuries to her face. Ronquillo was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers identified the victim’s boyfriend William Manuel Delgado, 42, of Lompoc as a suspect in the crime. Delgado is currently on supervised probation out of Riverside County.
At around 2:30 a.m., Delgado was seen driving near the victim’s residence while investigators were on scene. He was stopped and arrested without incident.
On Tuesday, the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office announced Delgado was charged with murder. It’s further alleged that Delgado used a knife in the homicide.
Delgado was taken to Santa Barbara County Jail with bail set at $2,000,000. His arraignment was continued to January 11 in Santa Maria court.
Delgado was allegedly convicted of felony Domestic Violence involving the same victim back in 2014 in Riverside County, a crime which he served prison time for. In 2008, Delgado is alleged to have been convicted of a serious felony offense involving a discharge of a firearm with gross negligence.
