First babies born in 2018 in Santa Barbara, SLO Counties

Some families in our area are now one person bigger to start off the new year.

2018 is off to a good start for the parents of the first babies born in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo County.

Angelo Xavier Lenetti was the first to arrive in the world, having been born at 12:06 a.m. at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria. Angelo was the first baby born in 2018 in Santa Barbara County. He weighed in at seven pounds, seven ounces and measured 19.75 inches long.

Angelo is the first child of Love and Devin Lenetti. The Lenetti family was presented with a gift basket full of treats and essential items for being the historic birth.

In Santa Barbara, Kyle and Joanna Kemp of Summerland welcomed baby MacKenzie Lynn at 6:56 a.m. at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

MacKenzie weighs seven pounds, 12 ounces and measured at 19.5 inches long.

The first baby born in San Luis Obispo County is Olivia Faith Rivera. Olivia was born at French Hospital Medical Center at 8:11 a.m. Olivia weighed six pound, eleven ounces and measured 19 inches long. Olivia is the first child of couple Jesus and Leanne Rivera. Leanne’s son Zach was on-hand to welcome his new baby sister.

Olivia and the Rivera family will be going home with a gift basket provided by French Hospital.
