Planned Parenthood Book Sale attracts readers of all ages

Books lovers got some great deals on Sunday at The Mary Jane McCord Planned Parenthood Book Sale.

The 43rd annual event is named in memory of a longtime volunteer from Goleta.

Readers of all ages bought bags full of hardback and paperback books.

The ten day sale at the Eart Warren Showgrounds in Santa Barbara began with 70,000 donated books.

On the final day, Sunday the books were half-off.

Volunteers said it looked like they sold more books than last year.

Money raised contributes to Planned Parenthood locations in Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

Book donations may be dropped off the little red barn warehouse on Thornwood Drive in Goleta for next year’s sale.

Call 805-722-1517 to schedule a donation time.
