‘Ride for Red Nose’ kicks off in Santa Barbara

Dozens of riders embarked on a cross-state tour as part of an annual charity bike ride on Sunday.

‘Ride for Red Nose Day’ is a four-day bicycle ride from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas that raises awareness about child poverty.

In the last few years the 400-mile bike ride has raised over $36 million for programs that keep children safe, healthy and educated.

Chief Marketing Officer Adam Holyk says the easiest way to support the cause is to visit your local Walgreen.

“Walgreens is the exclusive retailer of Red Noses, over the past three years we have sold over 13 million red noses to help kids,” said Holyk.

The National Council of La Raza and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America also benefit from proceeds raised.
