Public’s help needed to locate hate crime suspects

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help to find several suspects connected to a hate crime case out of Oak Park.

The Sheriff’s Office says they received several calls reporting notes containing handwritten anti-Semitic symbols, including swastikas and derogatory messages, left at the homes of several residents in Oak Park, an unincorporated area of Ventura County.

A task force has been created by the Sheriff’s Department to investigate this case, and hope the public may be able to help identify the suspects.

At least four suspects were captured on video surveillance placing 4×6 notes at a front door of a home and car, and at Chabad of Oak Park. Authorities say it appears the suspects were randomly placed and did not specifically target Jewish residents, with the exception of the Chabad of Oak Park.

The suspects appear to be in their teens, 15-20 years old, and investigators suspect they are from the local area.
