Armed robbery suspect turns himself in
A 36-year-old Arroyo Grande man turned himself in after seeing himself on a police news release regarding the armed robbery of the Market Express Convenience Store on Feb. 3, according to the Grover Beach Police Department.
The police department says Justin Curtis Gabbert walked into the GBPD on Sunday at about 9:55 p.m. and turned himself over to authorities.
Gabbert was booked for armed robbery at the San Luis Obispo County Jail, and remains in custody with a $60,000 bond.
Investigators say the robbery suspect entered the store located at 1051 S. 13th Street and displayed a silver handgun to the on-duty clerk before demanding money. The clerk complied and gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled the scene, and luckily, no one was injured in the incident.
