Lompoc resident arrested after cache of weapons found

Police arrested 49-year-old Lompoc resident, and convicted felon, Robert Bueno on Dec. 14 after discovering an arsenal of weapons at his home.

The weeks-long investigation began after Lompoc police received a tip about an illegal possession of firearms.

Investigators served a search warrant at Bueno’s home on the 900 block of West Apricot Avenue in the City of Lompoc. Four rifles, ammunition, nunchaku and a cane sword were recovered from the home, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

A tactical vest with body armor inserted into it was also located in a closet.

Bueno was not home at the time of the search, but was located a short time later at his workplace in Buellton. He was brought back to his home where he was interviewed and arrested.

Bueno was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail and charged with possession of body armor by a felon, possession of a firearm by a felon, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of nunchaku and possession of a cane sword. His bail was set at $100,000.
