Water main break in Lompoc causes large hole in the street

A water main break in Lompoc caused a huge hole at an intersection late Tuesday night.

City officials said it happened around 9 p.m. At the intersection of Willow and South J Streets.

Crews were sent out Tuesday night to start repairing the problem, but say the problem spot was difficult to isolate and repair. They did finally restore power and repair the hole around 10:30 the following morning.

Several people were without water for more than twelve hours.

There were no vehicle or pedestrian incidents/accidents reported in regards to the hole.
