Volunteers celebrate “Make a Difference Day” in Lompoc

Over 130 volunteers turned out for the “Make a Difference Day” in Lompoc Saturday morning.

Volunteers worked on a number of different community projects including maintenance work at the Ryon Memorial Park tennis courts, trash pick up and improvement on the city’s drought tolerant garden.

The Lompoc High School tennis team and the City of Lompoc Parks Department were among the organizations that took part in Saturday’s community event.

Organizers said that this year’s event had twice the turnout from last year’s.

“Make a Difference Day” is a yearly event that takes place across the nation. More information can be found here.
