United Launch Alliance Atlas V Launch Moved to Sunday Morning

United Launch Alliance released the following information:

The launch of a United Launch Alliance Atlas V carrying the WorldView-4 satellite is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 18 to allow the team additional time to evaluate the cause of the ground leak anomaly experienced during propellant tanking.

The launch window opens at 11:30 a.m. PDT.

The Atlas V was first scheduled to take off Friday at 11:30 a.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A big launch is scheduled at Vandenberg Air Force Base on Friday.

Team Vandenberg is scheduled to launch the World View-4 satellite on an Atlas V rocket.

The launch window opens at 11:30 a.m. PDT.

The rocket carrying the payload can accelerate to 17,000 miles an hour.

People who are interested in viewing the launch can watch from the Hawk’s Nest on
Hwy 1, just a half mile south of Vandenberg Air Force Base’s main gate.

KEYT/KKFX morning meteorologist Meredith Garofalo will attend the launch.
