Santa Barbara Rescue Mission Celebrates Sobriety Graduates
18 men and women are celebrating one year of sobriety on Saturday with a graduation.
They enrolled in a drug and alcohol treatment program at the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
Since 1997, over 600 people graduated from the program.
“I was really hopeless. I never thought I could ever live life sober and there was no where else I had to go. Literally nowhere else to go, and I came here and the door was open you know. I came here last September and my life changed completely,” said Dillon Grove, a graduate.
Grove is living life as a happier and healthier person. He is enrolled in college and wants to pursue a career in counseling.
The graduation ceremony and reception will be held at the El Montecito Presbyterian Church at 5 p.m. The public is invited to listen to the graduates talk about their journey.
