Rusty’s New Pizza Parlor is Also a Maritime and Lighthouse Museum

The new Rusty’s Pizza Parlor in Santa Barbara is one block from the beach and has an amazing maritime and lighthouse display inside.

The location has been in the process of remodeling for years and was formerly Bee Bop Burgers.

Along with the pizza selections Rusty’s has made in the area since the 1970’s, there is a featured “oversized” salad bar, with multiple choices including lettuce, tomatoes, kale, spinach, cranberries, corn and many other healthy additions. Specially made “confetti tortilla” pieces are custom made for Rusty’s to add to the salad.

In addition to booths, tables and chairs there are four meeting rooms that can be reshaped to remain as four or be one big room.

Outside seating faces the soon to be remodeled Californian Hotel on Mason St. The entire footprint of lower state Street near the Funk Zone and waterfront is getting a massive facelift. that includes the La Entrada Hotel and shopping complex and the MOXI Children’s Museum.

This Rusty’s was formerly around the corner in what was called the “Lighthouse” building. It has been reshaped as part of a Mission Creek widening project.

Rusty’s brought the waterfront experience and history into its new restaurant. Inside there are countless lighthouses of all sizes lit up, and a large lighthouse signal light just steps from the front door.

A few arcade games are available for kids.

Rusty’s also plans to open two more restaurants soon, one on Hollister Ave. near Turnpike and one in Summerland.

Rusty’s is a family operations that began 46 years ago and has multiple locations between Goleta and Carpinteria.
