Pismo Beach Business District Reopens Following Bomb Scare
A bomb threat shut down several businesses in Pismo Beach Tuesday morning after a gift shop in the 100 block of Pomeroy received a bomb threat from an unknown person.
Pismo Beach police investigators say the bomb threat was made at 9:21 a.m. and prompted officers to start immediate evacuations of the surrounding areas, and close streets in the vicinity.
With Cal Fire personnel staged at a unified command post, a bomb detection K-9 unit from California State Parks was brought in to help find any suspicious artifacts. No bomb was ever located and the gift shop on Pomeroy was deemed clear and safe.
The business district was reopened at 11:56 a.m.
The Pismo Beach Police Department is not releasing any other information on the case at this time as they continue to investigate the incident and developing leads.
