Los Osos Man Facing Child Molestation Charge

Authorities arrested 42 year old Los Osos resident Jeremiah Linzie Blackwell on a charge of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old.

Blackwell is a teacher at San Antonio Elementary School in Lockwood, in southern Monterey County.

However investigators say the alleged crime did not involve a San Antonio Elementary School student nor did it happen on school grounds.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office says it launched an investigation on May 9 after receiving a report of a suspected child molestation case that occurred in Los Osos.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect, Jeremiah Linzie Blackwell, had contact with the female victim sometime between January and March of 2016 at a home in Los Osos,” said Tony Cipolla, SLO County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer in a press release statement.

In a resume posted online, Jeremiah Blackwell lists former jobs as a substitute teacher in the San Luis Coastal School District, elementary school teacher in San Miguel and employee at Trader Joe’s in San Luis Obispo.

Blackwell is Director and Lead Instructor of the Central Coast Surf Academy where kids learn how to surf.

Detectives believe there may be other victims in this case and are asking the public’s help in identifying other potential victims by calling the SLO County Sheriff’s Office at 805-781-4500.
