Hollister Village Opens In Goleta
NewsChannel 3 gets a sneak-peek at the newly constructed Hollister Village in Goleta.
Construction is almost done on the county’s latest affordable housing community and 75 percent of the apartments are now occupied.
The community is located on the seven thousand bock of Hollister Ave. and caters to young and middle-aged working professionals.
“Supply and demand will drive improvements to the older apartment complexes in the area when newer apartment complexes come in,” said Jim Youngson, a representative for Hollister Village. “People need to live near their jobs, they need to live near their schools, live near retail and that’s what this project is. It’s right on Hollister — that’s what the city wanted.”
The Goleta City Council first thought of the plan back in 2006.
