Paraglider Collides With Power Lines in Templeton

A male paraglider is lucky to be alive after a gust of wind sent the man crashing into power lines in 1400 block of Rossi Road in Templeton Thursday morning.

Calfire SLO, with assistance from the California Highway patrol and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office, were able to safely get the paraglider down.

The paraglider suffered a broken leg in the incident, which occurred at about 11:30 a.m. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.

PG&E assisted with the operation by cutting power to the area.

No other injuries were reported.
