Fire Crews Put Out Vegetation Fire in Los Padres National Forest

An acre vegetation fire that broke out at the Winchester Canyon Gun Club is contained.

The fire broke out on the 6600 block of West Camino Cielo Saturday around noon.

No homes or other structures were threatened.

Santa Barbara County helicopters made water drops and crews surrounded the fire quickly.

An employee at the gun club said the fire broke out during a ‘cease-fire’.

Several people grabbed fire extinguishers and tried to put the fire out.

Everyone at the gun club was evacuated.

Fire investigators are on scene trying to figure out what sparked the blaze.
