A Shared Diamond Necklace Worn By A Bride

A shared diamond necklace that inspired the book, “The Necklace,” in multiple languages, was worn in a wedding this month.

Roz McGrath’s niece Rachel Mcgrath tied the knot with her sweetheart Eli this month wearing the diamonds around her neck.

The necklace has been shared for ten years between 13 Ventura County women, including McGrath of Camarillo.

The woman bought it together from Van Gundy Jewelers in Ventura.

The group ended up in People magazine and on Good Morning America.

A Fox Searchlight movie is also in the works.

When the necklace, nicknamed Jewelia, isn’t worn or borrowed for special occasions it is used for charity events.

The necklace was used to raise funds at the 10th anniversary for the River Haven homeless tent camp in Ventura on Saturday.
