Planned Parenthood Supporters Hold #Pinkout

It was easy to see Planned Parenthood supporters along the Central Coast on Tuesday, they were wearing bright pink.

Supporters tweeted pictures using the hash tags #pink out and #stand up for Planned Parenthood.

They don’t think controversial videos should lead to the defunding of Planned Parenthood’s Federal dollars.

Santa Barbara’s Planned Parenthood Spokesperson Julie Mickelberry said. ” There are so many women and men that come to Planned Parenthood for basic reproductive health like cervical cancer screenings, birth control, STD treatment and family planning services and today was a day people stood in solidarity with Planned Parenthood and they pinked out and showed their Planned Parenthood pride and we are really grateful for that.”

Members of Students for Life and a conservative student group called Anscombe said nothing could convince them to support Planned Parenthood.

Karlie Norville said they are opposed to abortion and selling fetal body parts for any reason and they don’t believe Planned Parenthood leaders who have said tax dollars don’t go to abortions and that they don’t profit from fetal tissue.

Planned Parenthood funding, female reproduction rights and stem cell research are gearing up to be hot button campaign issues in the next Presidential election.

One woman who asked to remain anonymous said that makes her feel like the country is going backwards.
