Winery to Yarnery: Two new businesses coming to Orcutt
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The city of Orcutt has several new businesses coming.
Starting with a yarn store!
"But not just yarn ... we also and I have classes for learning to knit and crochet and how to make sweaters or socks ... all sorts of things," said owner Lisa Long of Old Orcutt Yarnery.
Long believes this new business will make yarn and other supplies more accessible for locals.
"There’s not any really close by here the next nearest one is in Grover Beach and then Cambria," said Long.
Long has spoken with dozens of yarn lovers who plan to shop at the new store.
"I love knitting it keeps me busy it’s an obsession I love fancy yarn I’m a sucker for fancy yarn I don’t buy the cheap stuff," said yarn lover Sarah Gann of Orcutt.
Gann plans to splurge on yarn as soon as the store opens.
"When I come to buy good yarn I am willing i’m willing to spend probably about 70 bucks," said Gann.
The new store will feature high-end yarn from all over the world along with other knitting supplies.
And just across the street a newly built wine tasting business called Steller's Cellar is expected to open later this year.
From winery to yarnery, shoppers will soon have more options.
