Sheriff’s deputies investigating reports of shots fire in Paso Robles

PASO ROBLES, Calif. – San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a report of shots fire in rural Paso Robles Wednesday evening.

According to the SLO Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 200 block of W. 4th Street around 5:10 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

Deputies spoke with witnesses and focused their investigation to a specific area where the shots were believed to have come from. A man believed to be connected to the shooting was contacted by deputies, but the man went into his home and refused to come out.

Deputies spoke with the man and after about an hour, he surrendered to law enforcement alongside his wife.

They were both briefly detained by law enforcement before being released.

No suspects were identified and deputies were unable to determine the source of the gunshots, the sheriff's office said.

The investigation is ongoing, although it is unclear if any crime occurred.
