$300 Million Yacht Anchors In Santa Barbara Harbor
A $300 million yacht belonging to a Russian billionaire cruised into the Santa Barbara Harbor Tuesday.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the 394-foot yachted called “A” was built in 2008 and costs $20 million dollars a year to maintain.
The owner, 42-year-old Andrey Melnichenko is the owner of a Russian fertilizer and chemical company.
Forbes.com says Melnichenko is worth $9.9 billion and lists him as number 129 on their “Richest People on The Planet 2014”.
According to published reports of the yacht, it has six guest suites, a helipad, three swimming pools; one is glass bottomed, and has 23,600 square feet of living space.
The Wall Street Journal also says the yacht has 44 security cameras and a 2583-square-foot master suite wrapped in bomb-proof, 44-millimetre glass.
The yacht staffs 37 people and has made numerous stops around the United States including Hawaii and was in Seattle last week.
