Madonna Inn Cake Thief Caught On Camera

A thief is learning that he can’t have his cake and eat it too after he was caught on camera stealing a whole cake from Madonna Inn.

44-year-old Shea Martin was caught on Madonna Inn’s surveillance camera two Saturdays ago.

The owner of Madonna Inn posted the video to Facebook and a caller identified Martin.

Police then tried to visit Martin at his Morro Bay home, but say he fled through the back.

Police say Martin called them he’d turn himself in, but never showed up.

A few days later, an unknown woman walked into the bakery to pay for the stolen cake

Madonna Inn planned to press charges but the San Luis Obispo Police Department contacted News Channel 3 today to say Madonna Inn now wants to close the case.
