Charges Filed Against Alleged Arsonist

A man faces criminal charges, for starting a hotel fire that left more than 60 people homeless.

The fire broke out early Saturday morning at the Town Center Hotel on Broadway in Santa Maria.

On Tuesday, Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce Dudley filed several charges connected to the fire against Amos Lee Andrews.

The most serious charge against Andrews is arson.

Luckily, everyone safely made it out of the burning hotel.

Andrews was also charged with starting two trash can fires in Santa Maria.
