Avocado Festival Poster Unveiled

The 27th California Avocado Festival is just a month away.

To get the work out organizers held a kick off celebration Wednesday night at the Union Bank in Carpinteria Avenue.

They unveiled the winning poster art created by Aaron Friedland of Los Angeles.

He also created a poster with flip flops a few years ago.

The party gave volunteers a chance to taste the guacamole and other delicious dishes that will be served up at the festival.

The California Avocado Festival, also know as the Avo-fest, has raised more than $1 million for nonprofits over the years.

This year will be the greenest ever as the festival promises to recycling just about everything.

So mark your calendars, the festival runs from Friday, Oct. 4 through Oct. 6 in downtown Carpinteria.
