Fillmore Chemical Spill Caused by Equipment Mishap
A chemical spill is being blamed on faulty equipment.
A company trying to deliver hydrochloric acid to Fillmore’s city pool around noon Thursday had trouble with a pallet jack used to take it off their truck.
About 100 gallons of acid flowed into a storm drain.
The rest of the spill was contained.
Fillmore High School had to be secured while cleanup crews went to work.
A company worker and a city workers were treated for minor injuries.
